Protest posters have been hung from many gates of residences on 5th Trust CRoss Street in Mandavelipakkam by residents; this is to demonstrate their unhappiness at the state government’s decision to rename this street for which a function is planned today, Sept. 26 morning.
A resident said that this was to be a mass boycott of this event on the street.
He said a policeman threatened a resident this Friday morning to remove the posters which are hung from gates or walls of flats. “Are we not within our right to atleast protest within our premises. Not a single poster is fixed in public space,” the resident said.
He said the policeman has also photographed places which hold ip these posters.
