Navaratri celebrations are lined up at many temples in the Mylapore zone.
< At Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple are from Sept.22 to Oct.1. Every evening, the ambal with a unique alankaram for the day will be brought in the day’s vaham to the kolu mantapam here. For Vijaya Dasamai, Oct.1, there are special rituals in the evening.
< Navaratri celebrations at Sri Veleeswarar Temple, Mylapore start on Sept.22, evening, when the ambal will be on anna vahanam and taken to the kolu mantapam. A veena concert will precede this. Daily, the ambal will be brought in different vahanams to the mantapam. Concerts are held daily. On till Oct.1
< At Sri Mundagakanni Amman Temple, Mylapore; on Sept.22 evening the amman will be in the parvathi alankaram. Nagaswaram concert from 5 pm. On Sept. 23 ; amman will be in gowri alankaram; concert alongside. Events are on till Oct.1 Other temples are also hosting Navaratri events.
