Community celebrations are a standard at Ragamalika Apartments in Mandaveli’s Thiruvengadam Street.
For Navaratri, the community gets together around a common kolu created in the community hall. The event starts with a pooja, recitation of Lalitha Sahasranama and Parayanam and snappy events put up by children and women.
Teams take take turns to distribute sundal and thamboolam
Some 75 to 100 people assemble every evening, all of them in traditional clothes.
