A steady stream of people have been filing in to make use of the state-government-run Ungaludan Stalin programme which began at 9 a.m. this Sept.4 morning. It closes at 3 p.m.
This camp is meant for residents of division 126 of Mylapore – areas of Mandavelipakkam, part of colonies off Marina Loop Road, San Thome’s Leith Castle area.
The venue is the indoor stadium where badminton is plated in the Alphonsa GCC playground located off South Canal Bank Road, Mandavelipakkam.

This camp allows people to consult officials of various state departments like revenue, disabled, civic bodies and address issues like pensions, loans, scholarships, training, etc.
Well organised, with officials of each department seated in different sections and fitted with computers, scanners and printers, files and Net facility, people who are here say they the services are smooth.
By noon, the busiest counters were the ones that handled issues related to Aadhar Card and monthly cash paid to women by the state. “Many people are here to carry out changes in Aadhar card entries like change of address or wrong entry made in the card,” said an official here.
There were also queues at the counters for the disabled and for pensions to widows.
