Some Mylaporeans create their own civic rules and implement them too.
And many are not questioned by state authorities; be it the police, the GCC or the rest.
Many are blocking or barricading public space for their convenience. Others, do so because they say they want to prevent encroachments.
On Canal Bank Road, just off Nandalala Centre, at the Dr Ranga Road east junction, a real estate broker has barricaded public space and tied a rope across it to ensure people do not ‘cross his lines’.
There is also a private ‘No Parking’ signboard erected here.
