The community of CSI St. Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome celebrated the 167th anniversary of the church on October 18 and 19.
Rev Dr. Gnanavaram, former principal of TN Theological Seminary, Madurai presided over the celebration.
25 economically-poor people from the suburban villages including 10 visually handicapped people were presented with home utilities like sewing machines and idly cookers.

Some were given drilling machines and wire bundles – handy stuff to help those with skills to earn a livelihood.
There was some fun and fellowship after the religious service. Parish groups organised these events. Lunch was served to all church members.
The event was organised by the church pastor Rev. B. Devaprasad and the pastorate committee led by secretary Esther Jebaraj and treasurer Samuel Swamikkan.
