Over 200 people who are depositors in the Mylapore Hindu Permanent Fund and who say they have been defrauded by the nidhi company, staged a street meeting on Tuesday morning, November 25.
Members of the CPI ( M) party lent their support to this action.
This meet was organised by Mylapore Fund Aggrieved Depositors Assn., based in Kottur.
The community here made two demands – they want the state police ( EOW department) to work faster on processioning the case and filing a charge sheet.
They also ask the state government to direct its agencies to trace the properties of the Fund’s promoters and its director, Devanathan Yadav who is back in jail after he surrendered recently, to confiscate them, sell them and share the money gained among all affected depositors.
The organisers of the meet had sought permission for a space near the Chitrakulam for this meeting but police coaxed them to move to a point on East Mada Street opposite the theradi.
CPI-M leaders spoke, participants raised slogans and held placards. The group dispersed after about 30 minutes.

I am the depositor and was deprived. Please let me know how to join in the association.
