Foundation stone for multi-nodal and commercial complex at Chennai Metro’s Mandaveli station laid by CM

The foundation stone for a multi-nodal and commercial complex at the Chennai Metro’s Mandaveli station which is under construction was laid by chief minister M. K. Stalin onJanuary22 morning, via video conference.

The event took place in a yard which used to be the MTC bus terminus, off the R K Mutt Road junction. It was attended by Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu and senior officials of Chennai Metro ( CMRL).

Proposed here are twin towers – Tower A will be built on land where the MTC bus depot used to function.  Floors 1 to 7 will create spaces for retail business. ( photo above is a model of twin towers planned at Mandaveli Metro)

Tower B will come up on what used to be MTC bus terminus. The seven floors here are for commercial use purposes.  Besides retail stores, spaces for offices are also planned in the twin towers.

Both blocks will feature entry and exit points to the underground Metro station.

The MTC bus stop facility will be located in the Tower B area.

This contract, bagged by a private company is valued at Rs.167 crores and has to be completed in 20months.
