56 people took part in the first event of the annual Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2026 edition. It was held indoors at Lady Sivaswamy Ayyar Girls School, Mylapore on Saturday, January 3 evening.
There were many women, young and seniors, there were a few men and there were children too.
Participants got their partners by a draw of lots and while many sat on the granite floor of this airy hall, the seniors chose to sit and play at tables.
They were given 45 minutes to play the game.
Volunteers Mythili, Vasantha and Geetha managed the event and though the hall reverberated to the buzz and excitement of the players, it was all smooth going till the end of the show.
Winners will be decided on Sunday and prizes handed over after Jan.11.
