Rehearsals of the parade for Republic Day celebration will be held on Kamarajar Salai ( the Marina beach road)
on January 19 , 21 and 23 morning; hence the vehicles using the road will have to take diversions.
The section of the road from Gandhi statue to War Memorial will remain closed from about 6.30 am to 9.30 am.
The focus point of the R-Day parade is Labour statue on the Marina. Diversions will be made at the Queen Mary’s College junction.
All vehicles headed north from the Adyar side will be diverted through Greenways Road and those moving north from the San Thome side will be diverted via Dr Radhakrishnan Salai.
Mylaporeans who have to head to Central Station or to workplaces in central and north Chennai must plan to take diversions on these dates and are advised to start early.
