Tholkappia Poonga in R. A. Puram has increased the set of number of people who can go on regular walks inside the eco-park. It has also revised the admission fee.
The revision comes into affect from February 1.
This move comes after people complained that the slots for walking regularly inside the eco-park were fully booked for weeks on end, which did not give others the opportunity to take walks in the Poonga, located off D. G. S. Dinakaran Road.
REVISED ADMISSION: From Feb.1, 300 people will be allowed for each of the morning and evening slots for walking. Bookings must be made online ( tickets will be sold at gate only if slots are free)
WALK TIMINGS : 6.30 a.m. to 8 a,m. and 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
REVISED FEES: Rs.20 for single visit. Rs.250 for a month. Rs.750 for three months. Rs.1250 for six months.
OTHER TOURS: For students ( educational); 9.30am to 12.30 pm ( open six days a week). Guided tours for public – 2.30 to 4.30 pm ( closed on Thurs., public holidays)
Details and bookings at www.crrt.tn.gov.in

I still see no slots are available for single day unguided pass till April!!!
Monthly passes should not exceed a certain limit/should also have a higher fee for the exclusive access it provides and priority should be given to whoever takes the pain to turn up the gate. We cannot expect general public to book online in advance
Treat it like any other public space like Vandalur Zoo or Guindy park as far as entry is concerned
