A resident of R. A. Puram who was driving his bike, skidded, crashed and sustained fractures when he bumped into an unmarked speed breaker in Jeth Nagar on January 14 night.
The victim is said to be in a private hospital in Alwarpet now.
This accident took place in Jeth Nagar’s Ist Main Road in Mandaveli.
Two main reasons are attributed to this accident. As community activist and local resident Ravi Nandlaya puts it . One, the speed breaker had no warning street sign indication or any form of painted marks on it.
Two – the branches of avenue trees here have grown all over and covered the streetlights in this area and only diffused light falls in this zone.
Said Ravi, “We asked the agencies many times to paint the speed breakers and trim the trees but no action has been taken.”
