The community of MRC Nagar is conducting a waste collection drive along with a NGO, SAAHAS on Jan 9 , 10 and 11. The waste goods may be dropped off in boxes at apartments on Jan 9 and 10. Collection by volunteers will take place on Jan.11.
Priya Ramkumar, who has initiated the collection drive, with a team has got the support and participation from all the highrises in the area. Residents of independent houses have also been informed.
Residents of Jains Sagarika, RMT , 174 , Padmalaya Ficus Grove, Agni and Raheja have been asked to participate in this wastecollection drive .
Each apartment is provided with labelled cartons , in which used or unused clothes, e-waste like PCs and phones, toys, plastic, electrical and electronics metal waste goods and glass items can be dropped off.
Residents of neighbouring areas can also drop their waste at stalls to be erected in MRC Nagar.
Posters were made and circulated by designer Kavya Bharathi of Jains Sagarika. The campaign’s template was inspired by Ganga Sridhar of Eco Connectors, Mandaveli.
