Where are two very important foundation stones related to foundation and support of Nageswara Rao Park in Luz which detail the history of this popular landmark?
This issue is bothering people who are fond of this park and treat heritage seriously.
There were two tablets, set in each of the two pillars at the main gate of this park, facing Luz Church Road. ( photo below)
Massive renovation work is on here for some months now and this week, workmen of the contractor demolished the pillars, removed the gate and there is no sign of the tablets. ( first photo)
A person who looks after the washrooms near the gate said that a JCB was used to demolish the pillars some days ago.
Later on Sunday, the Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu with whom this news was shared, said that the two tablets are safe.
Interested people suggest that these tablets must find a place in the restored park.
