The space below the MRTS line in Mandaveli MRTS is a neglected area. When other areas below the MRTS railway bridge look grand with parks and walking area, here cattles are breed, not one but many. It was originally meant for developing a park but this space is abused for other purposes. The cattles moo and bellow and the owners fight and brawl at odd hours. It has become a nuisance to the residents in this area. Already, the canal bank road is abused by mechanics who dump broken autos, tinker and paint vehicles . The GCC officials should think of alternate space for cattle reares and automobile mechanics. There is a GO that cattles cannot be reared within corporation limits which was enacted during the Chief Ministership of Dr MGR. Is the Go still in vogue or it has been amended or cancelled? In any case, residents have a right to live peacefully and the authorities should ensure that residential areas are not used for cattle rearing and setting up auto repair shops.
