Hardly anybody makes use of Metrowater’s ‘Open House’. Agency says its team attends to complaints of water supply hiccups, sewage leaks

Metrowater hosts Open House at its zonal offices every second Saturday of a month. This meet provides consumers the window to present grievances and seek details on their local needs to officers/engineers directly.
Metrowater’s Zone 9 office is located off Dr Ranga Road ( near the traffic signals end) and its team manages water and sewage issues in most parts of Mylapore.
Its superintending engineer could not be present due to some urgent meetings elsewhere; he has to be present at Open House meets.
At the Open House held on Feb.14, the AO of the area was available.  Not many people turned up at this meet, held between  10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
We learn Metrowater is not  undertaking any major work on hand now locally and is concentrating  on existing issues and on one long-pending, final stage work – on P. S. Sivaswami Salai.
In general, the staff are busy handling issues like water / sewage leakage, disruption of water supply  and sewer blockages.
The general number to reach Metrowater is  4567 4567. The AO of Mylapore can be reached on 81449 30409
Once the notification for state elections is issues, Open House sessions will be suspended, we are told.
