Mandaveli resident S. P. Narasimhan was known among many Mylaporeans because he was called to houses and apartments to clean the rooms and washrooms too.
He passed away on January 30 and his customers got to know of his passing from obituary wall posters that were pasted locally.
Narasimhan would sit at the gate of the mosque on St Marys Road everyday, 7 a.m. onwards, waiting for customers of the day.
He was sincere in his work and charged a nominal amount – so his customers’ circle grew and the work sustained him.
Though he fell ill, he continued working till about a few months ago when he had to remain indoors due to ill-health.
He lived in the Vanniampathi area, off Venkatakrishna Road, Mandaveli
