Adam Street in Mylapore is a busy street, because motorists who wish to skip motoring down the busy R. K. Mutt Road take this route.
But in recent days, they are confronted with some civic problems which has to do with the drains being built here.
Workers have dumped sand and gravel on both sides of Adam Street and this hinders the movement of motorists.
The work is going on at snail’s pace.
Cars which come down the street drive on the gravel to move on. Pedestrians too find it difficult to walk on a street that is messy.
Residents say that the contractor needs to hasten the pace of this work and manage the gravel dumped here and there. They say that Mylapore has many small but busy link streets and so when civic work is undertaken, steps must be taken to manage it smartly without affecting daily life.
