Teppam of Sri Kapali Temple: focus on lord Singaravelar and consorts on Day Two

Day two of the Thai Poosam teppam of Sri Kapali Temple was held on Monday evening, February 2 in Mylapore.

There was a steady stream of people into the temple, many being regulars here, who prayed before the grandly decorated images of lord Singaravelar and his consorts, placed in the Navaratri mantapam.

It was easy for people here to step out of the temple on its western side / gate and step into the tank where the gate was kept open, to sit on the tank’s steps and to watch the float go by later that evening.

The float was taken on five rounds inside the tank and being a working day, the crowd was at least 50% less than the numbers seen on day one, a Sunday.

The final day of the teppam is on Feb.3 evening.
