The GCC playground on South Canal Bank Road, Mandavelipakkam is getting a new compound wall. ( This place is commonly called Alphonsa ground)
The old one has been demolished and work on building a new one will start soon, said ward 126 councillor Amirda Varshini.
She said that the wall had cracked in some places and hence, the need to build a new wall.
There is a gym at the far south-east corner of the ground which is well patronised by local youth.
The floodlights also allow youth to play here till late in the evening.
