LPG crisis: gas agencies crowded, people hang around in hope

The delivery position of Indian Oil gas had improved a bit with the arrival of one lorry load to the Mylapore  godown in Nanjunda Rao Colony off Venkatesa Agraharam  Street.
At South Madras Gas Agency ( Thiruvengadam Street , Mandaveli ) which handles the consumers in parts of Mylapore and Mandaveli, the outlet was crowded since this morning and the staff in the office found it very difficult to  manage the swelling crowd.
People carried empty cylinders with the hope that they can get a replacement here but in vain.
The position may remain like for some more time, said a woman staff.
Elsewhere, Bharat Petroleum is expected to send a lorry load this afternoon to its shop in the Corporation complex of Venkatesa  Agraharam street where Sowmya Gas Agencies is functions. Poeple waited in the sun or sat in tree shade, hoping to carry home a cylinder.
