There has been a stream of people outside a gas agency on Venkatesa Agraharam Street, Mylapore on Wednesday, March 11 morning. Customers who were due for gas supply, carried home a cylinder on bikes than wait for home delivery.
They did so even as the regular supply service got underway.
Some said online booking was not working.
The CNG gas station alongside the flyover off Narada Gana Sabha, Alwarpet, has closed business temporarily. This is a hub for autos that run on gas.
Clients of local restaurants said that there is no apparent ‘cut’ in the menu served as of now.
But some small time caterers are sending SOS calls. One of them based in Mosque Street, Mylapore sent out a distress call to customers asking for any spare cylinder.
Another said it is managing cooking and supply for now but can be affected if LPG supply stops.
