The coffee challenges continue in the heart of Mylapore. And they can be bitter, maybe chicory-ish.
Cothas opened its third outlet on East Mada Street, near Chandra Travels office recently. The launch was a grand one – Cothas obviously wanted every Mylaporean who passes by to know Cothas is here. Why? More later!
As cups of coffee were served to guests, the shop showcased all it offers.
A cup of coffee costs Rs 25 and tea is priced at Rs 12. Cothas also makes special cookies of different varieties – all priced at Rs 15.
So why open an outlet when Cothas has one on South Mada Street, some 65 metres away?
The buzz is that though the older Cothas ( one more exists in the Chitrakulam zone) has drawn a steadfast clientele, months ago, another coffee and snacks shop opened next door and the heat of the contest has risen.
Perhaps, Cothas’ managers have not only smelt the coffee but also the competition and would like to drive people to the new place and decide on the fate of the second outlet.
Mylapore’s coffee wars never end.
