R. Ramasubramanian, a resident of Rajasekaran Street, Mylapore who retired from a senior post in The Hindu newspaper, passed away on March 17 at the age of 68.
A1980 alumnus of the College of Engineering, Guindy (B.E. Hons, Electronics & Communication), he dedicated 33 years of his work to Kasturi & Sons Ltd. (publishers of The Hindu).
Retiring as assistant vice president (electronics), he served as the technical backbone of the organization, leading the teams that sustained the IT and network infrastructure for The Hindu, Sportstar, and Frontline.
Post-retirement, he devoted himself to a deep spiritual journey, his famiy said.
He became adept in Sanskrit and bhajans, meticulously transcribing the Bhagavatham and Ramayanam for his guru, and remained a dedicated volunteer for his apartment’s temple services, the family added.
‘Whether mentoring juniors at the office or guiding the younger generation at home, he embodied the true spirit of acceptance and contentment,’ his family said.
