Mylapore’s Mada Streets are turning into a religious and cultural setting now. And you have to be here to enjoy the colours, sounds and fervour of Panguni Fest 2026 of Sri Kapali Temple.
On March 24 morning, as the lord was taken out in the surya vahanam, folk dancers and musicians set the celebration tone.
Poikkal kudhirai and mayil attam artistes danced to the tunes of musicians who led the procession, which slowly wound its way even as the 9 a.m. temperature climbded past 30 degrees.
And you couldnt miss the large kolams which people design just before the procession makes it way from th temple and out on to the mada streets.
