200 parishioners of Our Lady of Guidance Church in R.A. Puram went on a Lenten pilgrimage to Emmaus Spirituality Centre at Villupuram.on March 8.
This retreat centre is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Bishops Council and many people go there for retreats and spiritual renewal.
Church groups undertake such short or long pilgrimages during Lent, a time to reflect on the suffering of Jesus and on our own shortcomings.
On this tour, the group made a stop at Mazhai Malai Madha Shrine at Acharapakkam.
This pilgrimage was organised by parish priest Fr. T. Anthony Raj.
Thilaga Ravi, a parishioner said ” It was a good initiative since the place was away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We were led into a profound spiritual experience.”
