Power cables burn time and again on Dr Ranga Road pavement. Pose danger. TANGEDCO blames state agencies for shoddy work

On Tuesday, March 10, at about 2.30 p.m. the power cable line that runs on top of a rough pavement on Dr Ranga Road caught fire. It was put out by local people.

Arvind Manickam says that this is a regular occurence.

He says that TANGEDCO staff attend to the issue by repairing and re-joining the cable, which runs all along this side of the busy Dr Ranga Road.

“They are not ready to work on the permanent fix to this issue. This is a safety hazard for the people,” said Arvind in a social media post to Mylapore Times.

The cables run like snakes all over the place, this has been the case when a new drain was laid many months ago and cables in the earth were dislodged and thrown around.

TANGEDCO’s local staff blame the state agencies for the state of affairs.

Arvind says pedestrains here are at great risk.
