Samprokshanam of Sri Vedantha Desikar Temple held

The Maha Samprokshanam of Sri Vedantha Desikar Temple Mylapore was held on Monday, March 16, from 9 to 10 am. This was last held in 2013.

This year, three additional gopurams were built  in recent months – one for Shri Lakshmi Narasimhar sannidhi, one for Shri Ramar sannidhi and one for Shri Andal sannidhi.

The ankoorarpanam, followed by the three-day yaga salai were held.

Two days ago,  people thronged the temple to get the blessings of the presiding deities lord Srinivasar and Alarmelmangai thaayaar by touching their feet, the abhaya hasthams et al.

Bhattachariars from various temples like Kanchipuram chanted the Vedas and mantras for three days during the yagam.

This Monday morning, as the sacred waters were about to be poured on the kalasams, devotees witnessed an eagle circling above the gopuram — a moment that many felt echoed the words of the Azhwars praising the lord who rides the divine bird.

Srimad Andavan Sri Varaha Mahadesikan of Sri Andavan Ashramam was present today. at the event
