Police have bene posted on some keyb roads to conduct checks in view of the elections in Tamil Nadu.
They can be seen on Dr. R K Salai and Kamarajar Salai.
On Sunday morning, a team stopped and checked cars at random but focussed on vans and mini lorries. A videographer recorded the checks.
Last week, a large amoiunt of cash was seized from a person tarvelling in a car on the Loop Road end. The person said he was on the way to a R A Puram hospital to settle big bills.
The checks have upset some people who tend to carry business revenues as well as jewellery for personal use. Police say people must carry documents that explain the cash / valuables that they carry.
