Churches have lined up special services for Holy Week.
Our Lady of Guidance Church in R. A. Puram will have Maundy Thursday service at 6.15 pm.
On Good Friday, Way of the Cross service in Tamil is at 6.30 am and in English at 9.15 am . The Mass will be held at 5.30 pm.
Parishioners here will hand over the Lenten donation bags which were given to each family at the beginning of Lent. They were asked to put in a handful of rice / dhal each day.
Our Lady of Light Church in Luz will have the Maundy Thursday service at 5 pm in English and 6.30 pm in Tamil.
On Good Friday, the Way of the Cross service is at 2 pm followed by the English Mass. The Tamil service will be at 5.30 pm.
St Thomas Cathedral will have all English services at St Bede’s auditorium. The Tamil servives will be held at the cathedral.
CSI St. Thomas Tamil church in San Thome will have two services on Maundy Thursday – at 7 am and 7 pm.
On Good Friday there will be a service at 12 noon. Here, the church members were asked to collect rice during the season of Lent. This rice will be distributed to the poor later on.
CSI St Luke’s church in Mandaveli will have its Maundy Thursday service at 6.30 pm and Good Friday service at 11.30 am. Here too, church members were asked to collect rice for the poor. The collection will be made this weekend.
Easter vigil and Easter day services on Saturday night / Sunday, are being held at all the churches in Mylapore zone.
