V. Gopalakrishnan passed away in Chennai on August 11 at the age of 81.
He was a retired Chief Engineer of B and C Mills (Binnys).
Gopalakrishnan was the son of the late G. Venkatesha Ayyar I.C.S. and the brother of V. Subramaniam, V. Narayanan and Seetha Venkateswaran.
He leaves behind his wife, Neela and daughters Shanthi and Geetha, sons-in-law Anil and Mahesh.

R. Harinee, a resident of Rakkiappan Street, Mylapore passed away on July 30. She had been a resident of Mylapore for the past 18 years. Her eyes were donated to Sankara Nethralaya.
