Tradition rules come what may and so, on Sunday hundreds of people took out a procession with women carrying milk pots from Sri Kapali Temple to the Kolivizhiamman Temple across Kutchery Road and then participated in a abishekam.
The organisers said that 1008 pots with milk were taken out by the women.
This ritual forms part of those leading up the annual Panguni fest at Sri Kapali Temple which begins on March 18.
Though the crowd was big, there was order in the event and made for a wonderful sight this Sunday.
