Violinist Dr. M. Lalitha has been presenting a series – “Musical instruments in divinity” featuring different instruments every month. The series deals with the history and evolution of the instruments, mythological and sculptural evidences, its usage in temple rituals, similarities in global musical cultures and references in literature and musical compositions. The seventh episode on “Damaru and Udukkai” will be held on Oct 24. The Tzusumi from the Japanese musical tradition will also be discussed. At Arkay Convention Centre, 146/3, R. H.
