Muslims gathered at local mosques this morning to end their 40-day long period of Ramzan, a season of fasting and prayer and to celebrate Eid-ul-fitr.
Prayers were held in the mosques in R A Puram, Mandaveli, Mylapore and San Thome.
There was a large number of people who were at the Jumma Masjid located on Kutchery Road to attend the morning prayers. Many children here were seen in new and colorful clothes.
After prayers, they greeted each other and headed home for lunch celebrations.
