The Salesian community of Catholic priests and others is remembering the 50th anniversary of the death of Archbishop Rev. Louis Mathias, the first in this post for the Madras-Mylapore diocese in this city for the Catholic community.
The event is on today, Saturday with a visit to his tomb inside San Thome Cathedral and Holy Mass. 3.30 p.m. onwards.
A French missionary, Rev. Mathias worked for many years in the northeast of India and his term as archbishop here was seen as a remarkable one.
