Cathedral campus turns into food and games hub to raise funds for mission work

The campus of St Thomas Cathedral wore a different look this Sunday. A food and games fete was launched as early as 7 a.m. for a special purpose. Funds raised at this fete and in the collection made at the Sunday Masses will go to the Mission fund that the church raises to support missionary work.

The food stalls offered a variety of food – from appams and dosas to vegetable stew and chicken curry. The nuns who work in the San Thome area also set up their food stalls under the tents.

Elsewhere, the youths of this parish offered simple fun games to visitors, for a fee.

Since there are a string of Masses at the cathedral on a Sunday, there was a steady stream of people at the stalls.
