The margazhi music festival of Sampoornam Foundation for music and arts started on Dec. 12 evening at Arkay Convention Centre, Luz.
The concert by Mylai Karthikeyan (nadaswaram), Sradha Ravindran (violin) and Ambur Padmanabhan (mridangam) preceded the formal launch event. In attendance were several rasikas, especially the elderly.
Eminent educationist Dr. Va Ve Su was the chief guest; he inaugurated the festival.
Arkay Ramakrishnan, Madhuradhwani was the guest of honour. The souvenir of the Foundation was released.
Saxophonist G. Ramanathan, managing trustee of the Foundation curates this fest. Following the launch was a grand concert by Madurai T. N. S. Krishna (vocal), Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi (violin), Patri Satish Kumar (mridangam) and B .S. Purushotham (ganjira).
