RASA denied permit to host dance fest for Mahasivaratri at Sri Kapali Temple

For some years now, dancer-choreographer and motivator of special needs children Dr Ambika Kameshwar used to host a dance festival on Mahasivaratri evening at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore.

RASA is Ambika’s institution in R. A. Puram where special children are motivated to sing and dance, the performing arts seem as a great way to express and improve life skills.

This year though RASA will not be hosting dances for Mahasivaratri.

Her team says officers at the temple turned down their request to host the dance recitals on March 4 evening. So the tribute to lord Shiva will be held from March 5 to 7 at Sri Apparswamy Temple, R. H. Road in Mylapore.

Dance recitals will be held every evening, says Vaishnavi Poorna of RASA.
