Road, street repairs will be done before monsoon, says Chennai Corporation engineer

While the intermittent rains are a blessing, the problem of water filling up the potholes on Mylapore’s roads and streets remains.

Chennai Corporation officials of local units say that most of the road work, which include re-laying roads and repairing others, will be done before the monsoon sets in.

T. Iniyan, assistant executive engineer, says, “In ward 126, we have finished road work on 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th Trust Cross Street, Periyapalli Street and Kanakarayan Malayappan Street. We are in the process of submitting a proposal for a few more streets including Sambandam Street, Lazarus Church Road and Jeth Nagar Third Street. We hope to start work on those streets soon”.

Residents of the areas where streets were relaid may want to share their thoughts of the civic work. Mail a line to – mytimesedit@gmail.com
