Park concert sets the ball rolling for Mylapore Festival 2020

This morning’s Carnagtic music concert by students of Sruthilaya School in Nageswara Rao Park in Luz set the ball rolling for the 2020 edition of the annual Sundaram Finance MYLAPORE FESTIVAL.

Though the dew disappeared early than it has of late and the sunshine crept into this verdant park, the group of vocalists and musicians, all in their teens and dressed in traditional attire started the concert on the dot of 7.

They sang for an hour as family and friends and some Mylaporeans who take walks or exercise in this park stopped by to listen to the music, which is never amplified at such concerts – speakers and amps are never used.

Hot cups of coffee were passed around to rasikas who sat around the stage at Chess Square.

The Fest will feature over 30 events across four days, Jan 9 to 12. All the info is at www.mylaporefestival.com
