The street shops in Mylapore have started selling earthen pots for Pongal.
At Venkatesa Agraharam Road, near Sri Saibaba Temple, Thiyagarajan and Hemavathy have painted pots for sale. The sibling duo has painted them with bright colours.
In addition to pots, Hemavathy says this year people are also preferring earthen firewood stove.
The painted earthen pot (small size) is priced at Rs.120. Similar pots are also sold at South Mada Street and at Mandaveli Market.
