Cases of people testing positive in two congested colonies have been reported over night.
One in Kapali Thottam, located off R K Mutt Road close to the MTC bus terminus in Mandaveli and the other case in Palakkuma Nagar in Luz, alongside the MRTS station of Thirumylai campus.
Photos showing Kapali Thottam being barricaded and sanitised were shared on WhatsApp. Residents who live close to these areas confirmed to Mylapore Times that positive cases have been located but could not inform how many people are infected.
Details of confirmation of local cases do not flow out easily from zone officers.
Meenakshi Srikantan who lives near the Pallakuma Nagar says; Palakku Manyam near Justice Sundaram Road side is being disinfected. A Chennai Corporation worker says a small boy has tested positive.
