Our Lady of Light Church in Luz was recently given the Decree. As per the decree the church will henceforth be called ‘Shrine of Our Lady of Light’.
The Shrines’ annual fest was held on August 15. The Kumbam aarthi was taken for the priest and devotees inviting them to take part in the Holy Mass.
Rev. Dr. A. M. Chinnappa, Arch Bishop of Madras – Mylapore read out the decree during the fest. The statue of Mother Mary was crowned to mark the solemnity of the occasion.
The Decree is normally given to a church depending on its historicity and devotions, says the Parish priest of the church Fr. Joe Andrew.
The decree was given on the 494th Annual fest of the Shrine.The shrine can be reached at 044 2499 2568.
