Josephine Regina Thomas passed away on August 29 at the age of 76.
Her family said that she died on an auspicious day – it was the flag hoisting for the feast of Our Lady of Vailankanni at Vailankanni, Nagapattinam.
The cremation took place at San Thome Quibble Island cemetry.
Her daughter said she had been a regular visitor to the Vailankanni Shine for the past 40 years without a break.
Josephine was born and brought up and got married and lived with her husband. Thomas Natarajan (retired Standard Chartered Bank) at San Thome, Mylapore since 1935. She leaves behind her husband, only daughter, son-in-law, grand son and daughter.
