Dr. Saraswathy Narayanan, obstetrician and gynaecologist expired on May 30 at her residence. She was 67 years.
After completing her medicine from Stanley Medical College, she set up her practice in Mylapore specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology. She had been closely associated with St. Isabel’s Hospital in Mylapore since 1970 and used to admit all her patients only there.
She had been a long time resident of Mylapore and was quite a popular person in the area, says her family member.
In spite of her busy professional schedule she never failed to attend the music concerts in and around Mylapore, especially during the music season, her son said.
She was married to late V. R. Narayanan, who expired in June 2010.
