C. P. Art Centre, Eldams Road is hosting a painting exhibition of G. Murali on the theme ‘Beacon of Nature’. The exhibition is on till July 31 and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friends of Dakshinachitra is organising Vastra Utsav 2011 on August 5 and 6 at Major Ramanathan Chettiar Centre, San Thome High Road. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Dr. Vyjayantimala Bali. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. On sale are sari, salwar suits, indo western outwear, traditional jewellery and accessories.
Shilpi has launched ‘executive collection’, a range of saris for working women. The saris have geometric designs that are done through hand block printing or embroidery. The shop is located on C. P. Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet. Ph: 2498 8303.
Fabindia has a collection of Ajrakh garments, a tradition block prints from Rajasthan and Gujarat at its outlets. These garments will be available only till July 31.
The range comprises of long and short kurtas, tunics and button down dresses for women and kurtas and shirts for men.
