Students of Chennai High School interact with police

10 students from Chennai Higher Secondary School in Bheemanna Garden Road, Abhiramapuram attended a special interaction programme at the Abhiramapuram Police Station on Nov.17.

This event was organised by Tulir, an NGO that works for prevention and healing of child sexual abuse.

Students were told how and why people make moves to sexually abuse and how they can resist and challenge these. They were also briefed about how local police work on a daily basis, how they communicate and manage cases reported to them.

There was also a demonstration of how people should react when a crisis arises and tips on maintaining security in public and private spaces were shared. The students also shared their thoughts with the police present.

They were instructed by L. Sivasankaran, Kotturpuram Assistant Commissioner, Srinivasan, Special Branch, L&O and Venkatesh Kumar, Inspector, L&O, Abhiramapuram.
