DMK partymen stage protest in R. A. Puram as part of state-wide agitation

The DMK party held huge demonstrations throughout the state of Tamil Nadu to protest what it calls a vendetta campaign by the ruling AIADMK party against the DMK by foisting cases against its leading members and throwing  them in jails.

The intention of the DMK was to force the state to deal with and arrest thousands of DMK party cadres as it agitated on the vendetta issue.

Locally, a procession was taken out in the Mylapore neighbourhood on Wednesday morning ( July 4). Partymen headed to the Mylapore Tahsildar’s office on Greenways Road in R A Puram and shouted slogans.

They were then rounded up by police and bundled into vans and buses and formal arrests made.
