Documentary on music maestro Manakkal S. Rangarajan: release on July 21

Manakkal S. Rangarajan is a senior Carnatic music vocalist, known for his own style of Carnatic music. Speed and perfect mathematical calculations marked his concerts in his prime days.

It is said that when he used to practise in his bungalow on Royapettah High Road, Mylapore, poeple used to stand in the bus stand close by to listen to him sing.

A diehard fan of his music decided to produce a documentary film on him and his music and that project is over now.

On July 21 evening ( 6 pm ) in Chennai, the DVD of this docu film is to be released at a grand function hosted by Vimbam of London and R. Pathmanaba Iyer.

The film has been directed by film maker and writer Amshan Kumar. Veteran musicians and gurus like M S Gopalakrishnan, P S Narayanaswamy and Prof. T R Subramaniam are slated to speak on Rangarajan and his music.

A concert by Abhishek Raghuram will be the finale.
