The city’s traffic police have installed some diversions in view of New Year in the neighbourhood.
All entries to beach road will be barricaded on Dec.31 from 8 p.m. This is to prevent entry of vehicles on to the beach road.
Vehicles from the beach road will be allowed to exit only via Kamarajar Salai only up to 8 p.m.
Vehicles coming from Adyar towards Gandhi Status will be diverted to Karaneeswarar Koil Street – San Thome High Road junction towards Karaneeswarar Koil junction.
Parking on beach road will be allowed in slots earmarked by the police. People visiting the beach can park their vehicles at Queen Mary’s College campus.
Vehicles going towards Adyar will be diverted from Anna Salai through R. H. Road, Luz junction and R. K. Mutt Road.
